Home away from home
Our philosophy is quite simple give the guests the warmth of homely hospitality. Therefore we encourage guests to have lunch and dinner with us apart from the regular breakfast. The dinner-time interactions amongst the guests and hosts are to look forward to. Sundowners in our drawing or courtyard area call for great conversations as well. The guests too reciprocate and mingle with us as if they are our own family members. We share our recommendations on things to do in Jodhpur based on guests interests and preferences. We also arrange for experiential events on requests.
The house provides fully furnished air-conditioned bedrooms with attached bathrooms and basic amenities. All rooms are decorated with old family furniture and portraits.
There are two room categories: Terrace Rooms and Standard Rooms
While basic amenities remain the same for both room categories, the standard rooms are smaller as compared to the terrace rooms and do not have tea and coffee making facility.
Guests are welcome to share the common spaces with the family and other guests. This includes a sitting area, central courtyard, terrace, garden, dining and drawing-room
Meals and Dining
We provide home-cooked meals, breakfast is included with the room. Lunch and dinner can be provided to all guests on extra charges.
The meals are best enjoyed with the family and other guests in the dining room, which is right next to the open central courtyard. Often when there are more than six members on the table we enjoy the meal under the open sky of the courtyard with a warm bonfire during the winter months.
Apart from meals, guests often enjoy evening tea and coffee on the terrace or in the garden and join us before dinner to have a sundowner and some great conversation, in the drawing-room our courtyard.
Local Rajasthani cooking is taught by Mrs Bhavna Singh and her daughter in law Saloni, to prospective and interested guests intending to learn Rajasthani cuisine. It is a 2-3 hour demonstration in the kitchen where they share recipes of their favourite vegetarian/non-vegetarian dishes.
The demonstration though elementary gives an idea to all the learners on how to cook a basic meal, after which they will be competent enough to try many other dishes too.
All in all, this is a good opportunity for intending learners of Rajasthani cooking to learn from the hosts along with the family chef, Dhan Singh who has mastered the art of cooking from Bhavna and is the Master Chef at the Homestay
